Thank you BW Girl Scouts for your, skit and the donation of the Buddy Bench to help students who are looking for a friend at recess.

You know your school is doing well when the teachers become the leaders and are able to share their skills to help create systemic change.

BW sent our student council to the Leaders in Life Conference today. We want our Runners to lead next year at BW & Shafter @General_Pride

A great LCAP Taco Night. Teachers and support staff cooked & served dinner for BW Families after discussing school progress & meeting needs.

Mr. Guzman was recognized by the staff and our BW School Board as our district teacher of the year. Congratulations Mr. Guzman.

Miss Schrum's 3rd Grade students were cycling through a STEAM (Science, Tech, Engineering, Art, Math) lesson with different stations. Great!

What a pleasure to see students using technology, and Mrs. Richardson using academic language and EL strategies to help her students.

BW does Dr. Suess' B-day different. Our staff made green eggs & ham for students & parents on late start Wed., and then we gave away books.

Just about everyone pitches in to make and serve green eggs and ham to our families. #1town school community

The green eggs and ham received more positive votes than negative in a very unscientific poll that was taken in the BW cafe. #BWRunners

A great family night with over 250 people attending. Our 4th through 8th graders made presentations on over 80 colleges and universities.

Our kindergarten students celebrating Dr Suess Week

California Resources Corporation shared their jobs and toured BW students around. They met with our students over lunch. Thank you CRC.

COLLEGE IS COOL--As part of AVID students have been writing to universities. Georgia Tech was a goldmine as Juan Garcia, Eddie Armendariz, Kevyn Lopez, and Janxya Garcia model Georgia Tech sunglasses. They received pennants, a football, and other items from GT. #BWRunners

Our Little Roadrunner preschool class got their hands dirty planting a mobile garden this week. #1townschoolcommunity

Mobile gardens were planted this week. Great to see gardens in different grades and classes. Pizza gardens and hamburger gardens were a big hit. #1townschoolcommunity

It was a big week on the state stage for Buttonwillow. Just today, Mrs. Witcher, Miss Burger, and Ms. Gomez presented our Intervention Program to curriculum leaders from around the state at the curriculum conference in Monterey. On Tuesday, Mr. Packard, with other superintendents from Kern County presented at the state small schools conference. The focus was on the benefits of small districts working together.
