Great after school programs are taking place at BW. Classes include reading and math intervention, music, literature, food prep, and a class on tools. School as it should be at Buttonwillow. Thirty percent of the student body are participating. We enjoy 10 different classes and clubs. Really like that our Lead Custodian Steven Santillan is teaching the tool and small repair job class.

Thanks to California Resources Corporation (CRC) for sharing about the oil industry with our 7th and 8th graders. They shared demonstrations that included digging with a straw for chocolate chips in a muffin. The chocolate chips represented oil deposits. We have a great partnership with CRC.
